Numeracy in a Nutshell Series
A comprehensive set of numeracy resources that are in line with the Maths NZ website and the Numeracy curriculum currently taught in New Zealand schools. The series comprises teaching books, supporting activities & games and charts & cards.
Handbook – outlines the knowledge and strategies for each stage, contains diagnostic tests and includes guidelines for using the teaching books and supporting activities. PDF ebook format. Also available in Te Reo Māori.
Teaching Books Stages 1-8 – each book contains teaching points and activities, practical and written student activities, reinforcement homework activities, tests and checklists. PDF ebook format. Also available in Te Reo Māori as a set with the Handbook and the Charts & Cards.
Supporting Activities for Stages 1-8 – the supporting activities at each stage correspond to the teaching book of the same stage and contain additional activity worksheets, games and maintenance worksheets to reinforce every area covered in the books. PDF format.

Basic Facts Series
Basic Fact Sets – 8 sets arranged into 3 levels that cover the addition/subtraction and multiplication/division facts that support the numeracy skills from Stage 2 to Stage 6. PDF format.
Tables Activities – activity sheets for each times table from 2x to 10x that give a range of methods for the learning of the table, moving sequentially from concept to practice to mastery. PDF format.
Essential Spelling Series
Centred on the Essential Spelling Lists which are the words that are found most frequently in writing, it is important that students know these words by the end of Primary School. Some have common spelling patterns and some are irregular. In the resources the words from each Essential Spelling List have been arranged into learning sets according to similarities in phonic structure or syntax. All Essential spelling resources delivered electronically.
Handbook – outlines the Essential Spelling lists words and gives both general guidelines and a suggested classroom programme. Comes free with purchases of either Essential Spelling 1-4 or Essential Spelling 5-8. PDF format.

TICK – Structured Phonics Programme
TICK is a structured synthetic phonics programme tailored for the New Zealand accent which provides an effective literacy curriculum.
The programme comprises five comprehensive stages, meticulously covering all English language sounds, including unique Kiwi variations, while carefully and logically introducing graphemes. The foremost aim has been to make this programme accessible to everyone, whether you are a parent, tutor, or teacher. To achieve this, a wealth of ready-to-use resources has been provided, including detailed instructions, assessments, student reading materials, and spelling word lists.
Each of the TICK lessons has been thoughtfully designed to seamlessly introduce new content and review previously taught concepts.
Available currently are Stages 2 to 4. Stage 2 is the perfect launching pad for a remedial student.
Student Cards
These cards are the heart of the programme and include words to be read, focusing on specific graphemes while reviewing previously learnt knowledge. The cards also feature known heart words and three decodable sentences for practice.
Teaching Cards
The Teaching Cards provide educators with the tools they need for effective instruction. They contain valuable teaching information, spelling words (including essential words), focus heart word(s), sentences for dictation, and corresponding worksheet references.
